Free Samples Back in Action!
Free Samples are Back! When That One Place started online we had a crazy free sample promotion. It was so successful it overloaded our operations
Little Shop. Big Ideas.
You’ve seen the pitch before. “We have the best stuff, and here’s how it’s special and different from the 10,000 other people selling kratom and other botanicals.”
We’ll spare you the theatrics.
Here’s how That One Place operates:
Ongoing years of vetting sources, deep research, building a database of information, and learning intimately about our customer’s needs. This is a never ending task. Our goal is to become a resource for the community to learn about these plants, obtain high quality clean products, and learn to use them safely and effectively.
Lab Tests, good practices, testing, and a methodical growth plan to ensure quality of products and customer service does not slip while the business grows. In addition- every new product goes through a strict testing protocol. That One Place personally tests products. Then sends them through a local, and national group of testers to judge quality and note unique characteristics of each strain, botanical, etc. If quality is not up to par, the product will not even make it to the public. We don’t believe you should have to roll the dice every time you want to buy a botanical. This is why we confidently offer a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee.
We network with other advocates, businesses, and the community to defend our right to use these plants. In addition to advocacy efforts, we share resources, educate, and actively hold our network accountable to higher standards. This ensures no matter where somebody chooses to go for their botanical needs, they will be met with caring hands. Keeping these higher standards will also aid in this community’s image for advocacy efforts. There are plenty of attacks on kratom, we don’t need bad apples ruining our privilege to use this wonderful plant. We’re all in this together.
Everybody has different goals, different chemistry, each person is unique. The standard vendor model of “We have good stuff, do you want to buy it?” is not good enough. That One Place takes the time to listen. To ask questions. To collaborate on a solution. We put in time and effort to match each person with what will work best for them. This hands on business model is not scalable. But we’re going to figure out ways to make it work as we grow so our customers aren’t walled off at the website with questions unanswered, unable to find a way to reach a real person. Our connection with the community is the lifeblood of what we do, and it will not be sacrificed for the sake of profits.
The kratom and botanical industry is growing rapidly. New things are happening all the time. It’s important to not only adapt to these changes but to keep ahead of the curve. That One Place’s philosophy is to live outside the box. We’re constantly analyzing patterns, tinkering, building models… looking for ways to help everybody make these plants more safe, affordable, and effective. We’re always coming up with new products, ideas, and solutions to consistently provide value to the community.

New to Kratom?
there's a lot to learn... but here's a few quick notes.
A Brief History
Kratom has been used for hundreds, and possibly thousands of years in Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, etc). It has held a special place in ayurvedic practices. Field laborers would often chew the leaves to ease pain, increase endurance, and allow them to work long hours more comfortably. Mitragyna Speciosa (kratom) is in the coffee family of plants. No, it doesn’t have caffeine, but it does pack its own pharmacy. Touting an estimated 40+ alkaloids. An alkaloid is an active ingredient (such as caffeine) in a plant that interacts with human biology.
What Does it Do?
Anecdotal reports say kratom helps manage pain, anxiety, sleep, energy, stamina, and focus among other things. In certain doses it can have a stimulatory effect, in heavier doses it can help soothe and relax. Official scientific studies show kratom has potential in the areas of pain relief. This same science shows kratom taken in typical amounts seems to be non-addictive, non-dependence forming, doesn’t appear to function like an opioid, appears to have little to no long term health effects, and does not seem to impact social well-being with family or work. Everybody is different, but for us, kratom has created an enormous positive impact.

What do the Vein Colors Mean?
White VEINS
White = Flight
White veins are said to be more energetic. Many white vein advocates favor daytime use for concentration, energy, working, and endurance. Most articles will say these leaves come from less mature plants and are dried in a sterile and completely dark environment with zero light exposure. This creates a unique coloration and chemical composition that we know as "White Vein" kratom. However, that is largely false and the white coloration is usually obtained by a combination of pure green, red vein, and "bones" or the stem and vein being blended. So the insistence on this vein being energetic could be largely psychological.
Green VEINS
Green = Between
Balance is the name of the game with Green Vein kratom. The alkaloid composition is said to be a happy medium between relaxation, relief, euphoria and yet still energetic. Often times the plants are mature and "green" when the leaves are harvested. A common drying process includes a minimal light exposure indoor cycle. When almost dried, they are transitioned outside for about an hour to complete the process. Nowadays the sought after greens are kept in pure darkness for drying and the "unfermented" reds are the greens that see a little sunlight.
Red VEINS
Red = Bed
The purported heaviest of the kratom types is the red vein. Anecdotal reports say on average red kratom contains more relieving and relaxing properties compared to the other vein colors. The leaves are very mature when harvested, and the drying process is generally entirely outdoors with heavy sunlight exposure. Before drying, some red veins are even put through a fermentation process to change the alkaloid composition even further. These fermented strains are known as "Bentuangie".
What's With All These Strains???
The strain name of kratom is almost always named after a particular region. Most kratom comes from certain areas such as the Hulu Kapuas region of Indonesia, so a strain name could be a signature blend from the named area (such as Malay or Vietnam), or maybe they used one of that area’s drying techniques. There are a few with exception to that rule- like the elephant strain. It got it’s name because the leaves are so big when harvesting, they look like elephant ears. Some of the names like “Maeng Da” were created for marketing purposes. Maeng Da means “Pimp Grade” or “Top Shelf” and was introduced to spice up the market and appeal to buyers. They’re all still the same plant, Mitragyna Speciosa… however the climate, weather patterns, sun exposure, elevation, drying, and many other variables can change the balance of the alkaloids in the end product. It is these subtle differences that cause the widely varying effects a user may experience from each strain.
